Flagler County was successful in negotiating to be the location for a national conference for site-selector consultants for businesses and industry.
The three-day conference, to begin June 18, at the Hammock Beach Resort, is part of an annual series of three conferences held throughout the country.
“This is a real feather in our cap,” Flagler County Board of County Commission Chairwoman Barbara Revels said. “Consultants who assist the business community in selecting sites will spend three days in the county, and they will get to see firsthand what we have to offer.”
Sponsored by the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity, Enterprise Florida and JaxUSA, Flagler’s conference, titled “The Roundtable in the South,” is part of an annual series of three conferences held throughout the country.
The full conference, billed as one of the premier economic development industry events, has an extensive lineup of speakers, including Angelos Angelou, who was featured in the most recent edition of Florida Trend Magazine.
“We are very pleased with (the) selection of Flagler County for the conference in the southern states,” Flagler County Economic Development Director Helga van Eckert said. “This event provides us the opportunity to meet with the site selectors on an individual basis and, not just tell them about the community, but show them what an amazing place Flagler County is for their clients looking to expand or relocate. It is our time to shine.”
