Reading stats show district numbers neck and neck

According to a value-added analysis of students meeting or exceeding reading expectations from 2008 to 2011, Palm Harbor Academy recorded the largest percentage of students of any elementary school in the district.

With 59 students and a score of 55.9%, the school came in above the districtwide elementary score (6,063 students) of 53.3%, but below the entire district (21,865 students) score of 56.2%.

Matanzas High School (1,800 students) showed the highest percentage, with 64.6%, just over Flagler Palm Coast High School’s (2,998 students) score of 58.6%.

In middle schools, Buddy Taylor (2,393 students) topped the list with 59.8%. Then came Indian Trails (2,667 students) with 54.3%.

Charter schools — Imagine School at Town Center (383 students) and Heritage Academy (186 students) — scored on the lower end, receiving percentages of 49.1% and 43.5%, respectively.

Pathways Academy (120 students) scored a 35.8%.
