The City Council will use the data collected from the survey to set its 2012-2013 goals.
As Palm Coast officials prepare to set their 2012-2013 goals, the LITE program will be put in place to help determine what those goals should be.
The Leadership Intern Training Experience program is a six-team effort led by city staff members who will work together leading up to the City Council’s May 29 goal-setting exercise.
“Our departments are thinner than they used to be,” City Manager Jim Landon said Tuesday. “In administration, we’ve taken a look at how do we add depth to our organization without adding cost.”
Landon said a team approach will be one way to combat a lack of depth.
Recent results from the National Citizen Survey will also be part of the program.
There were 1,200 surveys sent out to random residents. A total of 449 completed surveys were obtained, providing an overall response rate of 41%. The margin for error is +/-5%.
According to the survey, the overall quality of life in Palm Coast was rated as “excellent” or “good” by 67% of respondents. A majority of the residents also stated they intend on staying in the city for the next five years. The survey also shows 97% of residents had provided help to a friend or neighbor.
