The State Attorney’s Office filed three charges March 20 against Cary Hudson, the man who was arrested March 6 for severely beating a Palm Coast woman.

Hudson faces one count of kidnapping with the intent to inflict bodily harm or terrorize the victim, one count of aggravated battery by using a boot or shoe to knowingly harm or cause “great bodily harm or permanent disability,” and one count of driving with a revoked license (habitual offender).

The kidnapping charge is a first-degree felony and carries a life sentence, if Hudson is convicted. The second charge of aggravated battery is a second-degree felony and carries a 15-year maximum sentence. The third count of driving with a revoked license is a third-degree felony and carries a maximum sentence of five years.

Hudson, 32, came from Jacksonville earlier this month to visit a woman at a Palm Coast home. According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office report, Hudson dragged the woman out of the R-section home and allegedly "punched and stomped" the woman.

He was booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $90,000 bond. As of 2:20 p.m. March 20, Hudson was still incarcerated.

Assistant State Attorney Joshua Davis has been assigned to the case.
