An 81-year-old Jacksonville man, Alex Meyer, turned into the driveway at 5224 N. State Road A1A at 1:10 p.m. March 17, in Flagler County, and failed to yield to a motorcycle.

The motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson driven by Christopher Marlin, 40, of Jacksonville, with his wife, Siglinda Marlin, 45, as a passenger, was traveling southbound on A1A and had the right of way, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Both Marlin and his wife were thrown from the motorcycle and onto the roadway after striking the passenger side of Meyer's BMW.

Christopher Marlin sustained serious injuries and was transported to Halifax Hospital. Siglinda Marlin sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
