Lost and Forgotten
A Palm Coast resident reported the decal from her vehicle plate had been removed. The 61-year-old woman told deputies she discovered the theft about a month ago, but she kept forgetting to report. There are no suspects.
Powerless to resist
A Tallahassee resident reported his home on Princess Rose Drive in Palm Coast had been burglarized. The victim told deputies that when he arrived at the house, there was no electricity, so he called Florida Power and Light. FPL employees responded to the home and discovered the wiring in the attic had been cut and removed. The victim did not know when the incident may have occurred.
March 4
Body shot
Deputies arrested a 24-year-old Palm Coast man on charges of domestic battery by strangulation and resisting arrest without violence. The victim said she and the man were arguing when he grabbed her by the neck and began strangling her. When he released her, he began hitting himself in the head, telling the victim that if she called deputies, he would say she hit him, too. When deputies arrived, the man fled the scene and attempted to hide from deputies in a nearby wooded area.
March 3
When there's smoke, there's a cigarette
Deputies responded to a house fire at 18 Federal Lane after receiving reports of a large amount of smoke billowing out of the home. The two residents had already evacuated the building when deputies arrived. A tenant said he was unsure how the fire started, but he admitted to smoking cigarettes inside the bedroom of the home.
