A 32-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested Tuesday evening on charges of kidnapping and domestic violence-aggravated battery in connection with the beating of a Palm Coast woman, according to a release by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 7:46 p.m., deputies responded to 40 Regency Lane, in Palm Coast, following a report of a woman being beaten in the front yard and then forced into a vehicle. While deputies responded to the residence, other deputies located the suspect’s blue vehicle traveling recklessly northbound on U.S. 1.

Inside the vehicle, deputies found the 51-year-old victim. She was bleeding heavily from the face and was incoherent, deputies said.

The arms of the driver, Cary Hudson Jr., were covered in blood. He was taken into custody while deputies questioned the victim as she was being treated at Florida Hospital Flagler.

She said she had moved from Jacksonville to Palm Coast to get away from Hudson. He then moved to Palm Coast to spend time with her. She said he became abusive once again and, last night, pulled the victim from the Regency Lane home. Witnesses said the man then punched and stomped the woman, slamming her head onto the vehicle and then forcing her inside. Once inside the vehicle, Hudson punched the female again in the face while she was sitting in the passenger seat, according to witnesses.

Hudson was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

He was being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility Wednesday on $90,000 bond.
