An Ormond Beach man was seriously injured Monday night when his girlfriend ran him over with her vehicle following a physical disturbance in the R-section, according to a release by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies said Tuesday that Jacob Grosso, 30, was in the intensive care unit of Halifax Medical Center with head injuries
Witnesses told deputies that around 6:41 p.m., Allison Rosensweig, 32, drove the vehicle that struck Grosso after he was involved in a fight with her father, Joel Rosensweig, 61. Deputies reported that when Grosso and Rosensweig began fighting, Allison got into her father’s vehicle and drove down the street toward her boyfriend, striking him as he attempted to run from the oncoming vehicle, at which time he was thrown into a swale. The hit took place near at 20 Rylin Lane in Palm Coast.
Deputies said witnesses reported that after she hit Grosso, she pulled the vehicle into the garage at her Rylin Lane home. She was uncooperative with their investigation, according to deputies.
Allison Rosensweig was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery. Deputies also determined she was in violation of probation in reference to a child abuse neglect case.
She was being held Tuesday without bond in the Flagler County Inmate Facility.
Deputies said Rosensweig’s vehicle sustained minor damge to the front bumper.
Grosso was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he remains in intensive care. A landing zone was set up at Royal Palms Parkway, between Rymfire and Rickenbacker Drives. Deputies said Grosso has an outstanding warrant out of Flagler County for failure to appear.
