NOTE: According to Paul R. Christle, director of communications for GelTech Solutions Inc., Mark Fowler no longer works for FireIce. Updated June 7, 2013.
Mark Fowler, a former lieutenant with Flagler County Fire Rescue, has been charged with capital sexual battery on a victim younger than 12.
Fowler, 41, was arrested Thursday in Valdosta, Ga., by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges are the result of an investigation that the victim was molested during a two- to three-year period while Fowler lived in Putnam County.
Fowler is currently in the Putnam County Jail. He is being held without bond.
The arrest came just weeks after Fowler became engaged to Shannon Tilton, Feb. 14, according to his Facebook page.
According to a website about the organization FireIce, for which Fowler is listed as an instructor, he is a third-generation firefighter with more than two decades of experience in fire and emergency medical services.
