After approving the Global Outreach Charter Academy of Palm Coast, a K-8 Russian bilingual school, for district operation Sept. 20, the Flagler County School Board will vote to approve the school’s final contract tomorrow night, Jan. 3.

Not much else is on the board’s agenda for its first meeting of 2012. The only item on the schedule that requires a formal vote, in fact, is the bilingual school’s contract, which has already been negotiated with district staff.

Included in the charter school’s five-year contract are five-year renewal options. If the school does not open by the 2013-2014 school year, its application will be voided.

The school’s founder, Sergey Soroka, also runs schools in Jacksonville and California.

The Global Outreach Charter Academy of Palm Coast is scheduled to open in the fall of this year.

The School Board will make its final vote on a mandatory districtwide uniforms policy at its following meeting, Jan. 17.
