A traffic stop in Bunnell last week led to the arrest of a Palm Coast woman on drug charges and driving with knowledge of a suspended license.
Ashley Minton, 25, was driving along U.S. 1, in Bunnell, around 12:50 p.m. Feb. 16, when she was pulled over. The Bunnell Police Department deputy noticed the tag on the vehicle expired August 2011 and that Minton had a suspended driver’s license.
Minton brought the car to a stop and got out, as did the passenger, 25-year-old Aaron Rogers.
The deputy ordered both to stop walking and return to the vehicle, the report states.
Minton was then handcuffed and placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license.
Minton, while being brought to the patrol car, told the deputy “that there might be a syringe within her purse and that she didn’t want me to get ‘stuck,’” the deputy reported.
Rogers was then handcuffed and detained while the deputies searched the vehicle. The car’s registration had been expired since Aug. 22, 2011.
A search of the car yielded six syringes, one metal spoon with residue, a knotted up shoe lace with possible traces of blood and half of a metal soda can with residue.
Also found on the passenger-side console was a wooden smoking bowl with residue and a Q-tip with part of the cotton torn off.
In the trunk, 12.5 tablets of Seroquel, an anti-psychotic prescription medication, were found, as well as eight tablets of Paxil, an anti-depressant. Neither were controlled substances.
Rogers was also arrested on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, the report states.
Both Minton and Rogers were transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.
