The county also awarded a contract for CR 305 projects.
The Flagler County Board of County Commission approved the transfer of $170,000 to the Tourist Development Council Feb. 6, for three projects.
It approved the allocation of $150,000 for the rehabilitation of the Princess Place Preserve Livery & Riding Stables.
Another $10,000 was approved for the promotion of the sixth-annual Primary Care Spring Conference, which will run from April 2 to April 6, and April 9 to April 13.
And $10,000 was approved for promotion of the sixth-annual Maya at the Playa Conference, which runs from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7.
Last year, Maya at the Playa brought in more than 1,200 visitors.
County Road 305
The County Commission awarded a $786,933.80 contract to Halifax Paving Inc. for improvements to a portion of County Road 305.
The project will be fully funded through the Florida Department of Transportation Small County Outreach Program.
Airport road construction set
A total of $421,617 was approved Feb. 6 by the County Commission for design updating and Phase 1 construction for a south-access road at the Flagler County Airport. Funded through the Florida Department of Transportation, the project’s total cost will be $1,525,258.
The road’s design is complete and its permitting is set. According to staff, the completion of the project will make way for “key” economic development projects on the site.
Sheriff to receive $20,000 for training, programs
The County Commission allocated more than $20,000 Feb. 6 to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for six programs.
A total of $10,000 was allocated for the Federal Bullet Proof Vest Grant’s 50/50 match.
Another $5,000 was put toward the purchase of a projector for use in training; $4,700 was allocated for the purchase of a crime analysis/crime trending computer software.
Eddy, Sperber appointed to housing committee
Carol Eddy, representing the banking/mortgage industry, and Dorothy Sperber, representing an employer in jurisdiction, were both appointed to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Feb. 6, by the County Commission.
There are 13 members on this committee, each appointed in four-year terms. Eddy has been a board member since April 2011.
