Paving firm signed for County Road 305 improvements

The Flagler County Board of County Commission awarded a $786,933.80 contract to Halifax Paving, Inc., of Ormond Beach, for improvements to a portion of County Road 305 to County Road 304.

Opened for public bidding Nov. 29, 2011, three companies submitted estimates for the widening, resurfacing and drainage project, including P&S Paving, of Daytona Beach, and Art Walker Construction, of Lowell.

P&S Paving submitted a bid of $814,299.55, and Art Walker Construction submitted one of $1,062,069.50.

The project will be fully funded through the Florida Department of Transportation Small County Outreach Program.
