The following is an adapted press release from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office:

A 33-year-old Daytona North man was arrested Friday in Pennsylvania on Flagler County warrants, charging him with pawning or selling stolen property connected to a series of burglaries in the Daytona North area.

Michael Bailey, of 3756 Mahogany Blvd., was being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility Monday afternoon in lieu of $112,000 bond on eight counts of dealing in stolen property and five counts of defrauding a pawnbroker.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Detective Annie Conrad said Bailey and his girlfriend, Taunya Hook, 28, were pawning items stolen from at least five homes in the Daytona North area in July. In each burglary, the thieves typically pried open a rear door and would take items ranging from electronics and silverware to jewelry.

Bailey and Hook are charged with pawning the stolen merchandise at pawn shops in Voluisa and Flagler counties. Bailey and Hook were arrested on the Flagler County warrants by Pennsylvania State Police, in August. Bailey was extradited Friday back to Flagler County. Hook had been released by the Pennsylvania police to take care of family matters and was to have surrendered herself back to Pennsyvlania authorities in October.

Hook remains at large.

“This investigation is not over,” said Flagler County Sheriff Donald Fleming. “As more evidence is uncovered, I anticipate additional charges will be filed. These two were their own organized burglary ring and we are fortunate to have taken them off the streets.”
