Dec. 6

Fairway drive-by, as he drove by

3:20 p.m. — 200 Block of Ocean Shore Boulevard. Information. The victim said he was driving southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard, near Oceanside Golf and Country Club, when his car was hit by a golf ball. The victim said he thinks it was a golfer at the country club, but also said he has no idea how to identify who it was. The victim contacted the golf club and was told the club couldn’t track who hit the ball and wasn’t responsible for damage to his vehicle. The victim told police he was going to file a small claims lawsuit against the club.

Dec. 6

(N)O Christmas tree

8:22 p.m. — 100 Block of Deer Lake Circle. Theft. An Ormond Beach police officer was called to the location in response to a theft. The victim said there was a metal Christmas tree, which lights up, in the common area between two homes. The victim told police the last time she saw it was about an hour before she called dispatch. The victim completed a sworn statement and said there had been a neighborhood dispute about cutting down trees. She told police the metal tree was in the spot where a tree had been cut down by the city, against her wishes. The victim also said the homeowners association approved another tree, in the common area, to be cut down, against her wishes. Police said there were no suspects or witnesses.
