Yale University’s The Whiffenpoofs, America’s oldest collegiate a cappella group, will perform 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive.
Recently returned from a tour to the Southern Hemisphere, the Whiffenpoofs Class of 2012 became the first class of gentlemen singers to visit Antarctica. Other noteworthy recent concerts included December performances at the White House for President Barack Obama and at the Lincoln Center with “Glee” star Darren Criss.
The Whiffenpoofs were founded in 1909, in New Haven, Conn. The group has performed for Presidents Clinton, Bush I and II, and Reagan, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama.
They have performed at the World Series, on “Saturday Night Live,” “The West Wing,” and NBC’s “The Sing Off.”
The concert is made possible thanks to a grant from the city of Palm Coast. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the William J. Bellamy Jr. Music Education Scholarship Fund.
Tickets are $20 and are available at the church office, 156 Florida Park Dr., and Aimee’s Hallmark in the Palm Harbor Shopping Center.
Student tickets will be available for $10 at the door; a valid student ID is required.
