Michele Brown, 24, drove in front of Joy Allen, 47, at 5:14 p.m. April 25, causing a crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The report states that Brown, who was driving a 2004 Ford F150, was traveling westbound on State Road 100. Allen, in a 2007 GMC Acadia, was traveling eastbound on 100. Brown entered the left turn lane at the intersection of County Road 302 and did not observe Allen.

Brown attempted a left turn and violated Allen's right of way. Allen's Acadia struck Brown's F150, causing $17,500 of damage to Allen's vehicle and $7,500 of damage to Brown's.

Brown's vehicle was propelled to the embankment and overturned. Brown was then airlifted to Halifax Trauma Unit. Brown's 12-year-old passenger, K.K. Black, was released from Florida Hospital Flagler this evening. Allen had minor abrasions.

Seatbelts were worn by all involved. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the crash.
