+ County to post ‘Burn Ban In Effect’ signs
Fire Rescue Chief Don Petito presented to the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners April 16, saying Flagler currently has no active wildfires. Most previous fires have been man-made, he said, caused by items such as cigarette butts and charcoal grills.

An emergency burn ban has been enacted, and he announced that staff is currently in the process of designing “Burn Ban In Effect” signs to post around the county.

“The fires right now are pretty standard,” County Administer Craig Coffey told the board. “We’re prepared, better than we ever have been, and we continue to be prepared.”

The current drought index is around 570 out of 800.

Grace’s Place Bagels & Deli is officially open.

“Hopefully all the people who were waiting patiently will come back,” said Co-owner Grace Tutak.

The shop, at 1000 Palm Coast Parkway, is in the same location as the former Best Bagels & Deli, and employs many workers from the former restaurant.

The shop is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., for breakfast and lunch.

+ Lunch in the Park to be at Holland Park
Flagler County’s Lunch in the Park event is coming to Palm Coast’s James Holland Park noon Friday, April 20, in the large picnic pavilion.
