Corações de Portugal, the Portuguese Folklore of Palm Coast, won first place in the Best Ensemble for the second time, at the International Festival of Folklore, in North Miami Beach.
This trophy is considered the most prestigious of the program. The festival had representation from Brazil, Chile, Spain, Venezuela, Israel and other countries, and its main objective is “to celebrate the colorful cultural heritage of Floridians and to promote understanding amongst all ethnic communities,” said Roger Weiger, festival artistic director.
Corações de Portugal, which translates to Hearts of Portugal, is an entity of the Portuguese American Cultural Center of Palm Coast, at 1200 Palm Harbor Parkway.
