Florida Hospital Flagler recently hosted a Pastoral Care and Eucharistic Minister Appreciation Luncheon for volunteers from local churches.

This group of dedicated volunteers works alongside Florida Hospital Flagler staff chaplains, hospital staff and faith groups throughout the community to ensure the patients’ spiritual needs are met 24/7.

“We are so proud and thankful to all of our Pastoral Care volunteers and Eucharistic ministers. They give of themselves freely each and every day and at all hours of the night,” said Robert Nickell, Florida Hospital Flagler chaplain. “I have personally witnessed members of this group support patients in our hospital in ways which are truly remarkable. Oftentimes their ministry is simply a ministry of presence — just sitting by, listening, holding a hand.”
