A 49-year-old Palm Coast man was listed in critical condition Friday after he slammed into the driver’s side of a car on U.S. 1. Next of kin hasn’t been notified, according to Friday’s release by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was travelling northbound in the left lane on U.S. 1 around 9:30 a.m.
Richard Deeves, 88, of Palm Coast, was stopped facing westbound in the left-turn lane on Matanzas Woods Parkway at the intersection of U.S. 1.
Deeves went to cross the northbound lanes on Matanzas Woods when the man on the motocycle, who was wearing a safety helmet, attempted to stop before striking the driver’s side of Deeves’ 2000 Dodge Neon car.
The biker was ejected from his 2010 Harley-Davidson, according to the report.
Deeves sustained minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
