The Local Media Association, which comprises 2,000 newspapers in North America, recently announced its full list of 2011 award winners.
Three Palm Coast Observer staffers were recognized for performance among weekly papers with a circulation between 16,001 and 36,000: Shanna Fortier won first place for her sports photo, Mike Cavaliere earned second place for his feature story, and Brian McMillan earned first place in column writing.
The Observer Group won a total of 17 awards among four of its newspapers, including seven first-place awards.
