A slick roadway caused a Palm Coast driver to lose control and crash into another Palm Coast vehicle, injuring three Saturday, March 31, on State Road 100, near Import Auto.
Nathaniel Columbie, 22, was driving his 2006 Ford Mustang eastbound on State Road 100 at 3:05 p.m., according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Jessica Laliberte, 21, of Palatka, was his passenger. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
When Columbie accelerated, he lost control of the Mustang, sliding and rotating through the center grass median before entering the westbound traffic lanes. As a result, the Mustang T-boned a 1990 Chevy 1500 pickup truck driven by Preston Hagens, 18, of Palm Coast. Hagens also was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Columbie sustained critical injuries. He and Laliberte, who sustained serious injuries, were transported to Halifax Hospital.
Hagens sustained serious injuries and was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler.
The westbound lanes of State Road 100 were closed for about two hours due to the investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
