Mimi, a 9-year-old Chihuahua mix, and Dr. Erika Mendez, veterinary associate at Flagler Animal Hospital, entertained students at the KIND Kids September meeting by demonstrating agility moves with circus music in the background. Who needs elephants, tigers or a big tent?

Using photographs and quizzes, Mendez and Mimi then taught the club members about signals that dogs give to let humans know whether they would rather be touched or left alone.  A quiz that followed included rewards of lollipops and praise for the kids who answered correctly. Everyone in the group earned at least one lollipop.
