Thanks to the help of confidential sources in two sting operations, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tobias Miller, 32, Sept. 13, on drug trafficking charges.
The first operation occurred June 24. A confidential source used $3,900 of official authorized funds, through the Jacksonville office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, to purchase 300 pills from Miller, according to an affidavit.
The pills were analyzed and confirmed to be oxycodone.
Subsequently, another sting was executed in which a confidential source negotiated to buy another 500 pills from Miller Sept. 13, at 100 Flagler Plaza Drive.
Upon his arrival at the appointed meeting place, Miller saw that the confidential source was accompanied by law enforcement personnel. Miller fled on foot, and after a 30-second chase and the use of a stun gun, the officers caught Miller and brought him to jail.
Later investigations revealed that Miller did in fact have 500 prescription pills in his glove compartment.
The charging affidavit identifies Miller as having a mailing address in West Palm Beach.
