+ Steve Canfield joins Exit Realty First Choice
A native of upstate New York, agent Steve Canfield recently joined Exit Realty First Choice of Palm Coast. He and his family moved to Palm Coast in 1996.

Canfield, a Florida certified firefighter and paramedic, will specialize in first-time homebuyers and distressed properties. He donates 5% of all net commissions to the Flagler County Habitat for Humanity.

+ Microtel earns 10th straight J.D. Powers award
Palm Coast’s Microtel Inn and Suites, located at 16 Kingswood Drive, recently was ranked “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Economy/Budget Hotel Chains,” by JD Powers & Associates, for the 10th year in a row.

“We continue to make guest satisfaction our top priority, despite the challenging economy,” said Suzanne Akley, general manager.

+ Intracoastal Bank’s Tom Hury named ‘Ultimate CFO’
Bruce Page, president and CEO of Intracoastal Bank, announced Sept. 2 that the Jacksonville Business Journal has selected his branch’s Chief Risk Officer (formerly Chief Financial Officer) Tom Hury as an “Ultimate CFO.”

The Ultimate CFO Awards recognize Northeast Florida financial officers for leadership. Ultimate CFOs are selected from nominations made by journal readers.

Hury will be featured in a special section of the Sept. 23 issue of the journal and will be honored at a Sept. 21 luncheon.

The Palm Coast Business Assistance Center announced plans for a BAC to Business Trade Expo, consisting of three training sessions with topics such as business with local government, measuring performance, acquiring capital, sales strategies and social media.

Held Oct. 7, at the Hammock Beach Resort, the expo’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Ted Anders. The expo is a public event open to all business owners, for a cost of $125 per person.
