According to an update of the county’s sales tax statistics, sent out by Palm Coast Chief Accountant Chris Quinn, consumer spending is on the rise in Flagler County. Palm Coast numbers will not be available until the end of the calendar year.

The statistics show Flagler County taxable sales increasing $15,701,018, or 4.67%, from January to June of this year, compared to the same timeframe in 2010.

Last year, sales in Palm Coast rose by 1.28%, as compared to 2.01% gains in the county. St. Johns County also rose 2.01% in 2010, while Volusia sales fell 2.16%.
