The following is an adapted press release from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office:

At 12:29 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 600 Cinnamon Beach Way, at the Cinnamon Beach Condominiums, in reference to a lost passenger from a Monday boating incident.

The deputy made contact with a resort security guard who advised he saw a shirtless male subject wearing board shorts walk out from between two of the buildings. The male identified himself as Brian Jeffrey Oliver, 46.

He advised he was the subject who fell off the vessel into the ocean and had just come ashore shortly before the security guard found him. Med/Rescue arrived on scene and checked the health and well-being of the subject. Oliver appeared to be cold and was shaking, but stated he was fine. He refused to be transported to the hospital.

Oliver was transported to the Flagler/St. Johns county line where he was picked up by a St. Johns County Deputy and brought back to his residence at 306 San Marcos Ave., in St. Augustine.

Officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard stated they would be following up with Oliver later at his home.

The original call was dispatched to Flagler Beach Police Department.
