The Palm Coast City Council agreed not to approve an interlocal agreement with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office to provide a Tactical Emergency Medical Support team for the county’s dive team.

The council expressed concerns with longterm costs at the Oct. 25 workshop.

Council members agreed it should be a countywide effort, and the city shouldn’t have to incur the costs for overtime of the paramedics.

Rather than formalizing the program into a city operation, the program will continue informally.

Mayor Jon Netts said Tuesday he wasn’t in support of the program, and City Council member Mary DiStefano suggested looking at the longterm budget impact.

The item will not appear on the Nov. 1 regular meeting agenda.
