Sefton Tranter, son of Tara and Jim Tranter, of Flagler Beach, recently got engaged to Meghan Batts, daughter of Maria Gyarmathy, of Jacksonville, and Jim Batts, of St. Augustine.

Tranter is a graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School and the University of North Florida. He is currently employed as a field producer for Interpret Studios, filming documentaries throughout the world.

Batts is enrolled in nursing school.

Tranter proposed to Batts on a hill next to the fort in St. Augustine, with both families watching from a window in a nearby restaurant. He was pretending to do a movie shoot and had Meghan stand in as an extra, when he dropped to one knee and proposed. It was all caught on film, and the families ran out afterward, to congratulate them.
