The following is adapted from a press release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:
Flagler County Sheriff’s detectives have filed charges against two of the three people who were involved in the Monday morning burglary of a Palm Coast home. The burglary resulted in one suspect being shot by the resident (charges are pending against the man who was shot).

Belle Terre Elementary School and Indian Trails Middle School were locked down during the search for the suspects.

Deputies responded to a home at 25A Brunswick Lane around 10:21 a.m. following a report of a burglary in progress. The victim, Daniel Floyd, 24, told deputies that the three men kicked in the front door to his home looking for his roommate. Floyd was held at gun point as the men asked for the roommate.

When told the roommate was not home, the three then attempted to run out of the house. Floyd armed himself and shot one of the three in the back of the head.

The suspect fell onto the lawn while the other two fled. He was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center where he was treated and released back to deputies. He was later transferred to Florida Hospital Flagler for further treatment.

Deputies launched a search for the two remaining suspects in the area of Brushwood Lane and Palm Coast Parkway. K-9 units and Air One helicopter from the Voluisa County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search. Both were located about 30 minutes later at 16A Brelyn Place and taken into custody.

Antonio Hudson, 20, of New Smyrna Beach, is charged with armed burglary and aggravated assault. He will be booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility.

David A. Pope, 16, of Brelyn Place, Palm Coast, is charged with armed burglary. He was transported to the Division of Youth Services in Daytona Beach.

A van suspected to have been used in the burglary was located in the area of 61 Brushwood Lane. A handgun used by the suspects was located by a K-9 unit in a wooded area near 84 Brushwood Lane.
