The following is adapted from a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:
James Gary Harding, 41, of the P-section in Palm Coast, is in critical condition after a crash at 12:29 a.m. Saturday Oct. 1.

In a 2003 Chevy 2500, Harding was traveling eastbound on County Road 302, approaching a sharp left curve before the intersection of State Road 100. Harding failed to negotiate the curve; he rotated partially counterclockwise, and crossed into the grassy, east shoulder near the intersection of State Road 100.

Harding then entered State Road 100 and crossed over the east/west travel lanes. He entered the north shoulder and crossed the natural ditch line.

Harding then struck a large tree, causing his truck to overturn. It ended up facing west on its roof. He was airlifted to the Halifax Medical Center in critical condition. There were no other passengers in the truck, which sustained $16,000 in damages.
