Palm Coaster starts on stage at Daytona Playhouse

Anji Brazell, of Palm Coast, is starring as Edith Ellington, the funny, witty pastor’s wife in the Daytona Playhouse production of “First Baptist of Ivy Gap,” by Ron Osborne.

Brazell has been performing in Palm Coast and Daytona Beach since 1977. Some of her credits include “Waiting in the Wings,” “Letice and Lovage,” “Night of the Iguana,” “Right Bed, Wrong Husband” and “How the Other Half Loves.”

In “First Baptist of Ivy Gap,” her character has to deal with a rebellious organist, a wannabe starlet, the snobby pastor, a frightened widow with a son overseas and a young lady with mysterious ties to Ivy Gap.

The show is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, through Saturday, Nov. 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Daytona Playhouse, 100 Jessamine Blvd., Daytona Beach. Call 255-2431 for tickets.
