City Councilman Bill Lewis was appointed as vice mayor Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Palm Coast City Council meeting.

Newly elected Palm Coast City Councilmen Jason DeLorenzo and Bill McGuire lifted their right hands and were sworn into office Tuesday, Nov. 15, in their first meeting as part of the council.

McGuire defeated incumbent Holsey Moorman in last week’s general election. The final count in the District 1 race saw McGuire get 2,871 of the 5,618 votes

In the District 3 race, DeLorenzo nabbed 2,766 of the 5,816 votes cast. Approximately 11% of the city’s electorate voted in this year’s City Council elections.

Also at the meeting Tuesday, City Councilman Frank Meeker passed the reins of vice mayor on to Bill Lewis.

That motion carried unanimously.

The new City Council will meet again in a workshop 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at City Offices, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B-106.
