Flagler woman wins poetry contest

Theresa Owe, president of the Flagler Chapter of the American Association of University Women, was awarded first place in a creative writing contest at the Florida State Convention.

Her poem, “A Blessing,” received the honors in the rhymed-verse category.

“It was written at a difficult time for my family,” said Owen, who was urged to participate by branch secretary Mary Rose Hoffman.
