Flagler Beach will be the subject of paintings by about 40 artists from March 26 to March 31, during the fourth-annual Paint Out, sponsored by the Gallery of Local Art, 208 S. Central Ave., Flagler Beach.

Artists will be rendering works from the Intracoastal Waterway to the ocean and will be wearing name tags to identify them as participants in the Paint Out.

The Paint Out ends noon March 31, with all paintings due at the gallery at that time.

Jurors Kathleen Maling and Peter Cerreta will select winners and honorable mentions.

Maling is an award-winning watercolorist and a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and Florida Watercolor Society. Cerreta teaches sculpture and painting at the Art League of Daytona Beach and in Flagler/Palm Coast Adult and Community Education.

Prizes will be announced at a public reception 6 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the gallery.

First prize is a week’s stay at an ocean-front beach house. One of the works will be selected for the cover of Destination Flagler Beach. Works will be on exhibit through the end of April, at the gallery.

Information about the Paint Out and events during the week are posted on the gallery website, www.galleryoflocalart.com.
