Have you ever thought of taking your dog to work with you? (Palm Coast Observer Publisher John Walsh does on a daily basis.)

June 24 was established as Take Your Dog to Work Day in 1999 in an effort to celebrate the companionship dogs offer and to encourage their adoptions from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs.  This annual event encourages employers to experience the value of pets in their workplaces and support the pet community.

The Flagler Humane Society is asking local companies to sign up to become an official Take Your Dog to Work Day business to help raise funds for the animals at the shelter. Employees can donate $10 or more for the opportunity to bring their dog to work to support the shelter.

Call 445-1814 or email jzuberer@flagler humanesociety.org.
