+ Florida Hospital Flagler opens children’s rehab clinic
An open house for Florida Hospital Flagler’s newly completed Freytag Children’s Rehabilitation Center was held June 1, in the hospital’s Lind Education Center. A tour of the facility was given, as were demonstrations of some of the specialized gym equipment.
Sue Freytag is a retired 26-year school instructor. Peter Freytag retired as a State Farm’s vice president of common stocks.
+ Hospital names new government affairs leader
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduate Joni Hunt will now serve as the government affairs leader for Florida Hospital’s Volusia/Flagler region, as of June 1. Responsible for planning, supporting and implementing government and public affairs efforts for the hospital, Hunt has a history in local community affairs. She has served on boards for Bethune-Cookman University, Checkered Flag Committee, Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club and the Tiger Bay Club, among others.
+ Solar-Fit hosts renewable energy job fair, to hire five more
Residents came from Flagler, Volusia, St. Johns and Alachua counties to gather information and submit resumes at the first Flagler job fair hosted by Solar-Fit May 24, at the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates.
Company representatives Gloria Eidson, Scott Snyder and Kerry Gauthier were on hand to answer questions and offer tours of the Solar-Fit “Plug into the Sun” mobile display. Another fair is scheduled in June, in Volusia County. Call 441-2299. Interviews will be held the next three weeks for three sales and two installer positions.
+ Laugh to Live Seminar chuckles into town

+ Auto-Owners Insurance reps named in Top 10
The Accord Insurance Network of Palm Coast was named one of the Top 10 growth firms of 2010, in the Auto-Owners Insurance’s 160-agency Tallahassee region, at an April 14 ceremony. The reps increased their written premiums by 28% over last term’s amount. Auto-Owners was founded in 1916 and has served Florida since 1952.
+ CPH Engineers Inc. celebrates 30 years of business
CPH Engineers Inc., a Florida-based engineering firm that established an office in Palm Coast 11 years ago, has just tallied its 30th year of business.

+ Ocean Publishing wins Ben Franklin book award
Eight-and-a-half-year-old Flagler Beach-based book publisher Ocean Publishing beat out more than 1,300 entries to win the Benjamin Franklin Award for excellence in editorial and design, for its first installment in the “Explore the National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau” series. The award was presented at the 23rd-annual Benjamin Franklin Awards program conducted by the Independent Book Publishers Association, on May 23, in New York City.
On receiving the honor, Frank Gromling, founder and publisher, said, “To me, (the award) signals that Ocean Publishing is reaching the performance levels we had set for ourselves when we opened our doors.”
Jean-Michel Cousteau said in a release, “This series is intended not only to inspire, but to inform the general public on specific measures that are working to preserve our ocean resources.”
Ocean Publishing produces nonfiction books on nature, marine life, environment and conservation. Its catalog contains 21 titles. The first Cousteau book focuses on the southeast Sanctuary region — including the Florida Keys, Flower Garden Banks, Gulf of Mexico and Gray’s Reef.
