Seven Matanzas teams earn FHSAA academic honors

Matanzas High School announced Dec. 29 seven athletics teams were named to the Florida High School Athletic Association All-Academic Team list.

The teams are as follows:

Boys bowling — coach Frank Novak: had the 19th-highest GPA out of 168 schools.

Boys cross country — coach James Wolfe: had the 24th-highest GPA out of 162 schools.

Girls cross country — coach James Wolfe: had the 20th-highest GPA out of 162 schools.

Boys swimming — coach Glenn Partelow: had the 13th-highest GPA out of 155 schools.

Girls swimming — coach Corinne Schaefer: had the 22nd-highest GPA out of 155 schools.

Girls golf — coach Louise Wolfe: had the 16th-highest GPA out of 254 schools.

Girls volleyball — coach Rob Roe: had the 17th-highest GPA out of 78 schools.
