Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies said an apparent friendship that had gone bad on Christmas Eve resulted in gunfire at one Palm Coast home.

Jason Peters, 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and shooting a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling in connection with the incident that occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sheriff’s Office deputies said Peters went to a home at 57 Robinson Drive looking for the 18-year-old victim following an argument earlier Saturday. When Peters located the victim near his Robinson Drive home, another argument ensued between the two. At that time, Peters brandished a .45-caliber revolver and fired two shots toward the victim and the occupied residence.

Peters then fled the scene and was located by deputies at 59 Westchester Drive, in Palm Coast. The victim and witnesses to the shooting were able to give a description of Peters’ vehicle and identify him as the man who fired the shots. Deputies reported that while they were talking with the victim, he received a text message from Peters stating: “You’re dead.”

The revolver was recovered near the intersection of Robinson Drive and Rolling Fern Drive, where Peters had tossed the weapon as he fled.

The teenager was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility, where he was being held on $20,000 bond Sunday night.
