The following was adapted from a press release from the Florida Lottery:

The Florida Lottery announced today that David Bailey, 63, of Palm Coast, claimed a $1 million prize in the BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER scratch-off game at Florida Lottery headquarters.

This marks the 41st winner to claim a $1 million prize in this scratch-off game; 79 $1 million prizes remain.

Bailey chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for his winnings in the amount of $650,000.00.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kangaroo Express, located at 890 S.W. Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast.

Bailey, who has enjoyed playing Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games for years, has previously won $1,000 and more, but has never won an amount this large. He says with Christmas and his birthday coming this month, he couldn't ask for a nicer gift!

The $20 Scratch-Off game, BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER, offers the highest cash payout of any game in Florida Lottery history. The game launched on February 24, 2009, and includes more than $1 billion in prizes, including 10 top prizes of $10 million. Six of 10 top prizes still remain. To date, the game has awarded more than $351 million in prizes. The overall odds of winning are one in 2.98.
