The St. Johns Park Volunteer Fire Department will host a Christmas celebration 6 p.m. tonight Friday, Dec. 23, at Hollar and Greene Produce, 3258 County Road 305, Bunnell.

The celebration will begin with a parade that will travel down Mahogany Blvd. to County Road 305 and end at Hollar and Greene Produce.

The celebration will include hot dogs, hot chocolate and lemonade.

Each child who attends will receive one new, wrapped, gender and age specific toy from Santa. Children will also be able to choose from a collection of used toys.

Both Compassionate Ministries and Lifecoast Church donated more than 100 new toys to be distributed. Other donations came from various collection points throughout Flagler County.

“It’s such a blessing,” said Gary Johansen, of Compassionate Ministries. “We go out there to give the children blessings and the true meaning of Christmas, from the Christian aspect, and to love on these little children. And they just light up.”

The celebration is open to any family in need and will last until the last child is served.

First United Methodist Church of Bunnell will also host a community Christmas dinner 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, at their site, 205 Pine Tree Lane, Bunnell.

All those alone or in need of a meal are invited to join.
