Drift smoke from a smoldering controlled burn just west of U.S. 1 near Palm Coast Parkway will be noted across parts of Palm Coast and U.S. 1 Monday. The controlled burn is well contained and in the lines.
Fire danger is listed as "High" on the website, with the drought index at 332.
The smoke may be very thick in places especially in western Palm Coast in Pine Lakes and Lehigh Woods. (W- and R-sections). Atmospheric conditions are keeping the smoke trapped near the ground. Motorists should be aware that visibility may change rapidly in the area.
Conditions should be clear by mid day, but smoke may return to the area at night as conditions settle down once again.
