The city of Palm Coast has scheduled its first budget hearing for 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway N.E.

Palm Coast’s proposed millage rate for fiscal year 2011-2012 is 3.9900 mills, or $3.99 per $1,000 of taxable value.

There won’t be any new taxes by the city of Palm Coast for 2012 if the current budget proposal is adopted.

The total budget expenditures for 2012 will be approximately $120 million, down from about $175 million in the 2010-2011 fiscal year. However, of the $120 million, $16 million comes from fund transfers, according to City Manager Jim Landon. He said the city is really spending more like $106 million.

The hearing, which is open to the public, will be on the tentative adoption of the city’s proposed millage rate and budget for fiscal year 2011-2012.

The budget hearing is open to the public. A summary of the proposed budget may be found on the city’s website at www.PalmCoastGov.com. For more information, contact Ray Britt, finance director, at 986-3725.
