The third-annual Purse and Jewelry Auction will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Palm Coast Yacht Club, 1 Yacht Club Drive. Proceeds benefit The Women’s Initiative of Flagler County, under the United Way Volusia-Flagler Counties.
This year’s event will feature keynote speaker Monica Wofford, CEO of Contagious Companies Inc.
Last year’s donated items were completely sold out at the auction. They ranged from brand-name gently used purses, to new and gently-used fashion and fine jewelry.
For the first time this year, the Women’s Initiative’s Woman of the Year award will be presented to a volunteer at the event.
Last year’s winner was Linda Mahran, the group’s policy and steering/strategic planning committee chair.
