Sean Ryan Fitzpatrick, 23, had a boat motor to sell, a 2011 6 horsepower Tohatsu. He put it on Craigslist, and he found a buyer. All was going according to plan.

Fitzpatrick arranged to meet the potential buyer of the motor, at Walmart.

What Fitzpatrick didn’t know was that the buyer was also the victim.

The boat motor, according to a report from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, was stolen by Fitzpatrick at 2 a.m. Aug. 13. The victim found the listing that matched his motor on Craigslist and contacted Fitzpatrick to arrange to see the merchandise. And he also notified law enforcement.

As a result, Fitzpatrick was arrested at 5:46 p.m. that same day, Aug. 13, and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and grand theft.
