The Flagler County School Board voted, Tuesday night, Aug. 2, to change Flagler Schools policy, expanding its advertising regulations as a possible means of revenue creation for the district.

In support of school programs, schools and departments may now utilize facilities, vehicles, websites, newsletters, newspapers, school supplies, clothing, school signs and uniforms for commercial advertising.

The policy change allows for potential advertising on buses, as well, and includes restrictions against political, religious, tobacco and alcohol-related ads.

The motion carried 4-1, with Andy Dance opposed for further workshop discussion.
