Later this month, Flagler County residents will have an opportunity to hear from the candidates running for Palm Coast City Council and Palm Coast Mayor.
Residents can submit questions via email to the Palm Coast Observer by sending them to [email protected].
The following is an adapted press release from the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates:
On Tuesday, Aug. 23, the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates, Flagler County Association of Realtors and Flagler County Homebuilders Association will host a political candidate forum open to all Flagler County residents. This forum is a must-attend for residents to hear registered candidates’ opinions about important business issues before early voting begins on Aug. 29.
The forum will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Town Center. It will be an opportunity to meet candidates, informally starting at 5 p.m. The program itself will begin at 6 p.m. in the hotel’s main banquet room. David Ayres, general manager of WNZF News Radio, will emcee the event.
All declared candidates have been invited to attend. The candidates are as follows:
District 1
William McGuire
Holsey Moorman
District 3
Dennis Cross
Jason DeLorenzo
Mayor
Joe Cunnane
Charles Ericksen Jr.
Ray Minami
Jon Netts
Questions can be submitted by emailing them to [email protected] before Aug. 5 or dropping them off at the chamber, 20 Airport Road, Suite C.
A review committee will select relevant business-oriented questions for candidates to answer. All questions will be submitted anonymously.
According to Doug Baxter, president of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, the candidate forum reflects a local effort to help businesses and citizens keep informed about issues facing Flagler County.
"It’s important for residents and business professionals stay on top of issues that could affect them and/or their businesses,” Baxter said. “The more informed we are about the candidates and their platforms, the better decisions we can make come election time and the better outcome we can expect for the community.“
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available, along with a cash bar during the pre-forum reception. Call the chamber with questions at 437-0106.
