Washington Oaks Gardens State Park celebrated Earth Day with a display of love letters written to the earth.
Here are two letters written by Rymfire Elementary students:
Dear Earth,
You are my heart. You give me everything. I love you because you give me a home, air, something to learn about (you). You are special in everyway. I am lucky to have you. Everybody does. I have been recycling for you. You are pretty! You are my best friend and always will be. You give me places to go. That’s what’s awesome about you. I am sad because I heard about all the endangered animals. I am going to try my hardest to say thank you to you for giving me everything. I will do this just for you!
P.S. I am going to wear all green on Earth Day.
Love your best friend,

Dear Earth,
I love you because of the fish that live on you. I protect you by getting the soda cans out of the water and getting plastic bags from out of the ocean. One day I was at the beach, and a plastic bag and a soda can were passing by and I yelled, “I have to save my Earth!” I jumped in the water and I swam fast like a speedboat, and I got the bag, and it had hooks in it. I yelled, “You are not going fishing on my watch,” and I got the soda can, and it had a lot of sharp points, and I screamed, “You are not going to kill fish on my watch!” And then everyone was clapping their hands.
