Madison Hance is a fun and imaginative 6-year-old girl who has suffered from a rare intestinal disorder since birth. She recently underwent an appendicostomy, a surgery that was supposed to improve her life, but the surgery failed.
Maddy is in kindergarten and unable to participate in regular activities because of her condition. Her friends and family are raising money so Maddy can be sent to Boston for a diagnostic exam that is only offered in two states nationwide. Her insurance will not cover expenses.
A benefit will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, April 17, at Flagler Beach Bed & Breakfast Café, 1536 S. Oceanshore Blvd., with a bike run concluding at HighJackers Restaurant, 202 Airport Road.
